For quantities of mined gold nothing beats the sluice box. Throughout history sluice boxes have been responsible for more recovered gold than any other method. Although the basic design remains the same, many enhancements have been made improving the total fine, flake and nugget gold recovered. From a simple tapered water trough to a more elaborate multi-step version, the sluice box remains a "must have" mining tool.
