Shovels for Gold Mining
If there was one tool that was indispensable for gold mining, it would be the shovel. There are a variety of shovels available for digging in gold bearing ground. Some work better in somewhat hard sand and gravel while others are faster at softer soil. It all comes down to fast movement of material to be processed or sluiced.
I am a big believer in "how easily can I shovel this gold rich gravel?" At the end of the day it is the amount of flake and course gold you have mined that matters.
The right shovel makes a dramatic difference on:
- How well and fast you move gold bearing gravel.
- How easy is this labor on you?
- How long does the shovel last?
- Will this tool rust?
- Maybe I can get a mining partner that likes to shovel.
